Willamette Wine sharing with friends

We had a few friends over for a delightful dinner, dessert and wine evening. As we had recently returned from our trip to Willamette, we were excited to share some of the wines we had discovered, along with the memorable stories of our visits to the vineyards. To complete the perfect evening, we broke out a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.

My tasting notes and reviews of the evening are as follows:

2021 Cristom Pinot Noir Eilleen Vineyard
Tasting Notes: Cherry, raspberry, strawberry, tobacco, cherry cola, vanilla, oak, dark fruit, pepper, licorice, and wet leaves
Characteristics: Smooth and very earthy for a young wine. I would’ve preferred it a little more chilled and maybe decanted. Will try again along with a few other bottles I purchased from Cristom based on Cristom’s reputation.
My Rating: 4.0 / 90 points

2022 Morgen Long Willamette Valley Chardonnay Pink Label
Tasting Notes: Citrus, orange, grapefruit, cranberry, strawberry, oak, and stone
Characteristics: Bright, crisp, juicy, acidic and easy drinking summer day rose
My Rating: 4.4 / 94 points

2017 Gehricke Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Oak, vanilla, blackberry, black cherry, leather, tobacco, earth, red fruit, floral and licorice
Characteristics: Smooth, bold, still dark fruit forward for a 2017, balanced with an earthy and floral finish. Quite good for a random wine fridge pull and what makes it even better is that it is priced under $40
My Rating: 4.2 / 92 points

2021 Patricia Green Cellars Freedom Hill Vineyard Dijon 115 Clone Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes: Red fruit, earth, leather, chocolate, floral, and spice
Characteristics: Bright and acidic, juicy, smooth, round and easy drinking
My Rating: 4.5 / 95 points
